These professionals are self-reliant, bright, and talented. They correctly conclude there is no real rocket science behind anything on the Internet and take on the task. I know that I have been there. Maybe this is you as well.

The catch is there is a learning curve to do anything the most effective way. The learning curve can be overcome through courses, research, training, and of course trial and error.

Where to Go

If you do want to handle these tasks on your own, these are the vendors we not only recommend, but use for ourselves and our clients. They are tried and true.

  • DirectNic – for registering your website’s domain names. Unlike many of the other “cheaper” services, there is only one add on optional fee (privacy) and no hype on the site or (daily) junk email barrage. We really dislike sites that feel like a carnival midway with flashing signs and pop ups. The fee per domain is $15 per year. Don’t be fooled by the $1.98 specials for the first year specials.
  • Aweber – this is our preferred auto responder/e-newsletter broadcasting service. Their customer service is second to none and the tools and templates they provide continually improve. One of the biggest advantages to using Aweber is they have very high email delivery rates with the major email providers like Gmail, AOL, MSN, Comcast, etc. Pricing: $19 per month typically $1 for 1st month
  • Site Build It - this service provides all of the web hosting and site analytic tools you need for a reasonable fee. Site Build It also provides professional templates so you can almost cut and paste your website content from Word and publish it on the web. Pricing: $29.99 per month or $299 per year.
  • Host Gator – when/if you ever want to host and administer your own site(s), this is the place to go. Host Gator’s customer service is terrific and they are GREEN. No not with envy, they use renewable wind generated power to run their facilities. In fact they buy 130% of the electrical power they need from these Texas wind farms. Remember, if you choose to be the site administrator, you will get to set up your own email addresses, site settings, and install any site applications you may need. Pricing: $7-$10 per month.

* For our continuing clients, The Strategic Marketing Group will provide administrative services for the following services through the organization’s account with the provider: Domain name registration and web hosting from any of the major providers. CPanel tasks including email account set up, blog installation, and installation of tracking databases. Administration of auto-responder/email subscription list services is limited to accounts with Aweber, Constant Contact, and Infusionsoft. If you subscribe to another service, please contact us, we may still be able to support you. All costs charged by the service provider are the responsibility of the client. Website publication/page updates are not included as part of this free administrative service.
